The 2014 Peter Cowan 600 Word Short Story Competition is now open for entries. The competition closes on 11th April 2014 – entries must be postmarked by this date.
In 2010 our writing centre launched the competition to honour our namesake, Peter Cowan. Peter was best known as a writer of short fiction and was the recipient of several major writing awards. He was co-editor of the literary journal Westerly and Edith Cowan University conferred its first Honorary Degree (Dr of Philosophy) on him in 1995. Peter was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1987 and was named a Western Australian State Living Treasure in 1999. He passed away in 2002.
Competition information will be posted in the coming week on the centre’s website in the Upcoming Competitions area at www.pcwc.org.au
Good luck to all entrants for the competition.
